Happy Birthday Della
I am twelve years old today
I thought I should go with a more sophisticated look
My brother Tug told me I look very intelligent with glasses on
Maybe we should get him a pair
He could use a little help
We're back from a week up North
Lots of woods walks and exploring
I don't know why mom has me wear a bell
It's Tug who's a ding-a-ling, not me
Staying Out of Trouble
We're heading up to the Berkshires for the weekend
We have already gotten the lecture
About staying away from gross stuff
That could make us sick
Do we look like we could possibly get into trouble
A Good Read
First mom read this book
Now dad is reading it
They keep talking about how good it is
Im trying but I cant figure out all those letters
Happy Birthday Tug
Im Six, Im Six, Im Six years old today
We had a biscuit catching party to celebrate
I was awesome if I do say so myself
Just look at my laser sharp focus
As the treats came flying in
Yeehaw Happy Birthday to Me
A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed
Between the Fourth of July and thunderstorms
I have been spending a lot of time in the bathtub
My sister Della heard me crying and thought Stickman
Might give me some comfort
She said he was useless at playing ball
I found him to be a standup, stalwart presence
A bit stiff and wooden but calming in his quiet demeanor
Della and the Stickman
I heard there is a Stickman who lives with Nick in California.
Apparently he hugs bears, listens to seashells and takes selfies.
We have a Stickman living here too.
Hes kind of boring.
I'm trying to teach our Stickman how to kick the ball for me.
Hes nice but hes not the fastest learner.
Maybe hes more Tugs speed.
Taking The High Road
Having a sneaky little brother has kept me on my game
I often take the high road while Tug takes the low road
You kind of have to have eyes in the back of your head
When this guy is around
Springtime is a great time to search for bugs
I always thought it was a serious endeavor
But my mom seems to think it's rather comical
An Active Imagination
The wind was so fierce at the beach the other day
We were worried we might get blown away
When we got leashed up Tug was anxious we might
Be flown around like a kite
Threading the Needle
Della: Watch out for Mom Tug....go right!!!
Tug: You mean the same way as you?
Della: Nooo.....your right.
Tug: Oh, yeah, I always get those mixed up.
I have been given a very important job
The Easter Bunny has asked me to babysit her babies
while she is busy coloring eggs
Youll notice my brother Tug isnt here
Thats because he thought babysitting meant you sat on the babies
The Easter Bunny put him to work making jelly beans
