Sticks in the Woods
I saw the photo of you balancing that rather large stick. You're very strong!
I like sticks too. I walked in the woods with my people the other day.
After I made sure the woods were clear of Chipmunks, Squirrels and Bears,
I brought a stick back to my people.
Mom said I'm hard to see in the woods because my colors look like the snow
and brown leaves.
Dad just laughed and threw the stick for us.
The Art Of Begging
To Baldr: I need to talk to you about something we both love...FOOD!
My sister Della loves to chase the sinister round thing and that's fine for girls.
But we men crave food. My friend, we need to sharpen your begging skills.
When your human has a delicious smelling lunch go lie down right in front of them.
Keep your head down and just look up with your eyes. It's very important to make
sure the whites of your eyes are showing. This little trick is a sure fire way of
making your human share his lunch.
Meeting New People and Dogs
Because I have blue eyes some people stare
Because I'm a dog they think I don't care.
But when you're a dog staring is not polite
and may cause the dog a terrible fright.
When new friends you meet out and about
Remember to turn to the side and don't shout
Dogs need to sniff you to figure things out.
When the sniffing is done and off I run
Now is the time for some ball throwing fun.
Bear Cub
My brother says I looked like a bear cub when I was a puppy.
I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
I know I like the snow and we haven't had any in a long time.
What do you think Baldr? How about Bella and Hammer?
Roscoe and Oliver, you live in the country, did I look like a bear
cub when I was little?
Baby Pictures
Mom saw January's new gallery with the old photos.
Ever since then she has been looking for old photos
of Della and me.
I heard her say, "Baldr never saw what you looked like
as a puppy Fenway."
So here I am, big head and all. That's my big sister Scout,
she was the best!
I hope Mom has an embarrassing shot of Della too.
Getting a Enough Rest
Never underestimate the importance of getting a good nap.
It's very hard work doing all that ball chasing and running
and jumping in the woods.
I think you will notice, my friend, that even the Man and the
Lady of the house enjoy an afternoon snooze on occasion.

Santa Delivered
Baldr, can you believe it, Santa really was here!
Fenway was right, he said he would come.
We got some cool snakes that squeak when you shake them.
Check out what else Santa left. His hat!!!
It must have fallen off when he went back up the chimney.
Hope you got some fun stuff too. Merry Christmas. Ho Ho Ho

Waiting
Why does Christmas take so long to get here?
Fenway and I have been good.
Are you sure Christmas is still coming? I'll bet Baldr
is sick of waiting too. I hope he hasn't been
naughty lately.
Relax Della, three more days to go and then Santa
will bring us some new toys.
Christmas Gift Idea
We have a suggestion for something you might like from Santa.
This fun ball can be played with in the house or outside.
It's nice and light but very strong.
We haven't broken anything with it but our Mom knocked over
an elephant once when she threw it.
It made a lot of noise when it hit the floor.
Our Mom got noisy too.
Only eleven more days until Santa comes!!!
Fun At The Beach
Run, run, run fast as you can
You can't catch me I'm the
Gingerbread Dog! While you are
having fun in the snow, Fenway and I
are running on the beach. Wish you
could join us. Your friend, Della.

Check it Out, Baldr
You have your Blue Bunny and I have my Hot Potato.
As you can see Hot Potato has had many surgical repairs.
I am told he used to have two eyes and a nose. I am the
third dog to have Hot Potato. So you see Baldr, your people
can fix Blue Bunny if you happen to chew off a few body parts.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving and don't eat too much turkey!
Some Advice From Fenway Regarding Squirrel Hunting
Baldr, about that squirrel you caught. I personally am very
impressed with your hunting skills! I have never caught
anything but sticks. My sister Della once caught a chipmunk
and our person screamed so loudly that Della dropped it. I
picked it up and then she yelled at me so I dropped it too.
People are strange. I guess it’s best to stay with sticks, balls
and the sinister round thing. About the blue bunny…try very
hard not to rip it apart. Just try carrying it around with you.
The people seem to like that.
