In December 2005 a group of seven birders from the Philadelphia area traveled to a lodge called Serra dos Tucanos, about an hour outside Rio in the Brazilian Rain Forest. We stayed at the lodge and birded the trails and watched the feeders there. Under the leadership of Andy Foster, who owns the lodge, we also took several excursions to nearby areas in order to see as many bird species as we could in the seven day period we were there. It was wonderful.
