From the train station 1

Matsumoto, Nagano-ken, Japan

The first impressions is just like any other smallish Japanese city, but you've got to go in and explore to find out more. Don't catch the bus to the castle you'll miss some very interesting scenes along the way.

It's also interesting that even I'm in Japan, I'm never too far from a reminder of Australia, see the pink Koala on the left hand side of the photo.

brilliant to find these pictures of matsumoto.it's 20 years since I first visited and I've been several times since.The last time was 2001.Hard to explain to people the attraction Matsumoto has..you have to be there to feel it.The ..MATSUMO..TOOO at the train station stuck in my mind too...
