We call these fruit "Chinese Apples" I don't think it's the real name, but the funny thing was this was image no 888 (a lucky number for Chinese people) for my D50! When I was in primary school we (me and my school friends) used to know were all of these trees were in our area and when they were in season we would go around and pick them and fill plastic bags full of them and bring them home to eat.
