Shorenin (pronounced Sho-ren-in) is a Buddhist Temple not far from the Higashiyama subway station (on the Kyoto Municipal Subway's Tozai line). The tree to the right of the picture is an Ume (plum blossom).
Shorenin was my first stop on my 6th time to go to a Higashiyama Hanatouro. That time I took a Nikon P7100 camera and a small tripod, which has turned out to be my favorite combo for this event. I began that Higashiyama Hanatouro at Higashiyama Station and headed south in the direction of Maruyama-koen (Maruyama park), but I didn't quite make it to Maruyama-koen before the finish of the evenings light up, because I spent a lot of time at Shorenin. I also spent some time photographing things on the route between Shorenin and Maruyama-koen and I only made it as far as the gate of Chionin before they turned the lights out.
This photo was captured in RAW (.NRW format) then processed in DxO Optics Pro before being exported to the Gimp for the finishing touches.
