There is one road to the village of Gaoxiu and this ends at the new drum tower. All other areas of the village are accessed by foot.

The dirt road to Gaoxiu was built in 1980 and was to be paved but the local government appropriated the funds designated for rural development and the paving that was to be completed in 2005 was never done. The road remains unpaved and during the rainy season it is very dangerous, which has contributed to many vehicle accidents.
