Plants, fungi, plant disease, insects and the use of herbicides and pesticides, Pohnpei, Micronesia.

With endemics as well as invasive plants, Micronesia has a vast array of species.

For the time being I will list fungi and plants together but as time goes on I will divide this. Fungi have a closer genetic link to the animal kingom than the plant kingom but for now I will leave them with the plants.

Research by: Dr. Amy Eisenberg. Dr. Eisenberg devoted many hours every day, including weekends to help farmers and the people of Pohnpei, plant and identify plants. She also donated many seeds to both farmers and individuals for food crops.
