Walking around in Värmlands Taberg is somewhat an excess in ruins, wrecks and overgrown pits, all remains from some 250 years of mining activity. Despite some recent heavy investments in modern time, including a new 320 m shaft in 1961, the mine was closed in 1962. The concentration plant went on for a few more years, fed with ore from other mines in the Nordmark area, but was finally closed in 1969.
