This is the worst kind type of scene I know - I would call it a “can’t win scene”. The red color symbolizes "blown out highlights".

I here intentionally blew the sky to show the difference in how both cameras handle the transition between "blown" and "not-blown".

With that said - a pitch dark forest and a white sky. Well, what could you possibly do, except avoiding to take the shot? Of course, you could try to maintain the highlights at the expense of the shadows, but it won’t help the overall result.
