"Thor" from 1909 was the "big engine" on private railway Byvalla-Långshyttan, which was closed in 1964. Even back then, Thor was a very old fashioned loco running on a very old fashioned railway. Never superheated and without air brake, the only modern piece on him was a turbo-electric dynamo. When he arrived to museum railway SRJmf, he was fitted with a steam pump for the air braking system, clearly seen by the smokebox.
Compared with a standard gauge locomotive, the 2-8-0 Thor surely looks like the small guy with his short tender and small drivers. However, he runs very smoothly and running on modern welded track must be a large contrast to his old life, where the typical maximum speed was some 30 kph and the train was all hand-braked.
It is still early spring in Sweden and the "real greenery" is still a couple of weeks away. Seen from the bright side, the risk of bush fires is low and presumably Thor could run without restrictions from the fire department
