LKAB is not very happy with the passenger services at Malmbanan and are somewhat working on get them closed down. Due to the difference in speed (passenger services typically have a 100kph average speed where the loaded ore trains have 50kph speed), several ore trains have to go to side tracks for quite long times as the passenger services pass. Apart from the time delay, taking a loaded 5200 ton train to dead stop and then bringing it up to speed again comprises a considerable cost and adds additional delays.
