Well, there is not very much to say, except that it seems like a fact that this barn has collapsed. Or… It seems like it was not anticipated, as there loads of hay bales inside… How did this happen? Was it a storm? Was it structurally damaged before it collapsed?
I guess I’ll never get any answers to these questions. It will just remain a memory of “one of these abandoned faming buildings”.

I'm told by a friend's neighbor, who also had a gigantic old barn collapse on his property, that those century-old barns was very sturdy and built using a LOT of lumber. Later generations usually took a little piece here and a little piece there as firewood or as wood for building other houses. That worked ONLY because they were so sturdy, but as the years went by, so did the pieces - and the sturdiness.
He still has another old barn and a big old woodshed on the farm that he's to afraid to use. Apparently he's surprised every winter they HASN'T collapsed...
