The mine at Bodås was owned by special steel company Sandvik and was closed in 1973. It is somewhat different from the other mines closed at that time in the way that its buildings are in a fairly good shape. After the mine's closure, there has been some experimenting activities and also an attempt to grow mushrooms there, but today the buildings are empty and abandoned.
