What really happened to this large Belgian university campus is beyond my knowledge, but giving the size and amazing architecture and further that it is all so intact makes me believe that there is something beyond normal. Something makes me think asbestos, but I might be wrong. Given the type of stuff found, at least at the Polytechnic sections, it seems like the campus had its final hay-days back in the mid-1980's.
