This abandoned locomotive depot and maintenance facility of the Belgian State Railways (SNCB) seems to have had its golden days in a different century. Although the place is a fascinating study in decay and just plain Laissez-faire policy, it is remarkably intact. The vegetation is however doing its best to regain lost land.
At first sight, it can be assumed that the story behind this depot is cut-downs in rail traffic, but more likely it is due to changes in rolling stock and simply less frequent maintenance requirements.
