Stood up, except by the cat

I hate this feeling..
being stood up..
I mean, it's not like I didn't have
classwork I could (okay, should)
have done.. be doing...
but no.. came home.. a little early..
picked up..
gussied up.. (you know, spend a little
time on the makeup)
Try on a different blouse or two..
but, stick with the outfit you had
on.. it's one of the faves..
you know, one of the ones, you wear
and think.. yeah.. this looks good!

Don't hear from the date.. except..
40 minutes later..
had a bad day..
probably not good company..

pity.. you'd think
being around a usually optomist
person-whose also a decent listener
would be a good thing?

Guess not.

Well.. there went my happy,
mischievous, fun,good mood.
Now, to send this email
about tonight.. or no?
sigh.. don't know..
Good thing you can save a draft..

Cat's always know..
don't they.....

PS, screen-2 layers, crosshatch on top one.

Chin up Kiddo. On my first date with Gerie I told her if she wanted anything more than a friend to keep looking as I was NEVER going to have a serious relationship again. It took her two and a half years to wear me down. LOL! I love this image Dawn, ... it holds the feelings of the words written well, and it's certainly a subject that every last one of us can relate to, male or female. If I had a buck for everytime I have been stood up, I would never have to work again. Well, ... not really. Most of the time I had to slam the door in the wimmin' folks faces as they tried to break my door down to get to me, ... but them I'm such a wonderful man you know. It's a guy thing, what can I say?

Well Dawn, guys, and women, for that matter, can be idiots! But leaving the fools behind, brings you a little closer to meeting the right person...and I have always felt there could be many 'right' people for each of us in our lifetime. Have a wonderful weekend in spite of the fool!

Hang in there, brighter days are ahead.
He may not be the one.

The shot conveys the mood of your words perfectly, Dawn. Very, very poignant.

I'm glad your creativity is not put down. HUGS!

Unforgivable and inexcusable. Consider yourself lucky to have escaped. Instead of wasting an evening with a jerk, you created something wonderful that spread joy and pleasure. Pretty impressive.

Well my friend the good that came out of it is this photo.
It could be a book cover.
Way to use your disappointment and turn it into something creative.
His loss.

Very emotive shot reflecting the night - if he's worth waiting around for, then give him the chance. If not - I know a guy who knows a guy ....

Gotta back you up on the decision to save a draft, I know it must have been tempting to send it now. Personally I've never seen any negative consequence to sleeping on an important letter. Doesn't always help any, but it never hurts to sleep on it (besides being irritated that you want to get it out now). I applaud that you kept up with the potd despite your setback. I'm continually impressed at how constructively you deal with adversity in your life. That's strong. You live up to your band!

Nice fireplace, those things are cool.

You had a cut-out thing going tonight, you're always so inventive and willing to try out new things! With this direction I would have liked to see a different angle that got more of your profile in, as well as the cats. The more crisp edges the better I bet - like getting the firelight to shine through the window made by your chin resting on your arm. And higher contrast - having some grays in the otherwise black figures felt like when I'm trying to get clear color boundaries between shapes and I accidently get some paint on the other side. I'll bet though, when you're working with a cat you get whatever picture you can take, eh?

One more note - the light shining through your hair was a cool effect. I'll bet you could work on a prop hairstyle for the camera that made it look like you were bathed in fire or wreathed in a halo.

Dawn... i'm sorry to hear about your night... maybe it's just for tonight and there'll be another opportunity in the future?

your picture really captures the mood, and the caption as well...
