“For over 40 years, Galveston’s world-famous Victorian holiday festival has been held in The Strand National Historic Landmark District. This was the 43rd time.
The annual holiday street festival, based on 19th-century Victorian London, features parades, non-stop entertainment on six stages, strolling carolers, roving musicians, bagpipers, jugglers and a host of other entertainers.” Galveston Historical Foundation

Most spectacular are the costumes, especially ladies’ dresses. Some are quite elaborate with crinolines, and of course, there are hats galore. They say they have been collecting these outfits for years. Gentlemen are more subdued but for some, the combinations of their physical features and costumes produce fascinating period images. And, of course, they all just LOVE to be photographed.
