J.D. Williams Store, Jacksonville, Ga.

Standing in front are: Uncle Horace Williams, Reva Wells Clements, Mattie Williams (my mother), and Robert Clark. To the left you can see Mr. Dewitt Wilcox's Store and Post Office (brick bldg. with tin roof over porch) - over the truck you can see J.D. Williams' house (the water tank is there now). We moved from that house when I was nineteen years old. Daddy, at various times, had a restaurant in his general store, and also had rooms above for boarders. It was also a bus station for Trailways and Greyhound.

Thank you for sharing this photo of my dad (Robert Clark) and the others. I have happy memories of that store and the old Dewitt's Store. For special treats, Dad would allow me to go in and select one or two pieces of hard candy that I had to share with my brothers, but my dad could break that candy in so many little pieces until we would have enough to last for a week. Again, I thank you.
