Blockhouse Baptist Church

Fort Clark, two miles west of Jacksonville, Georgia, stood on the site of the present-day Blockhouse Church. The fort was built in 1813 and served as a refuge against Indians. When possible the settlers would worship in one of the two "blockhouses" inside the fort - hence the name, "Blockhouse Church." It was also on land adjacent to this site that John Clark had a plantation and house. He later became Governor of Georgia and his Jacksonville estate was sold after his death.

My uncles, grandparents and extended family are all buried there at the blockhouse grave site. My mother was born and raised there in 1931 to 1950's. I have family that lives in georgia now that are elder. If I can be of help to anyone let me know.

My Great-grand Parents , and Grand Parents are all buried here. I would love any info on them and thier lives . I have been to the grave sites and have found other Kelly graves.
