Shawn Wells said his grandfather Henry Wells and grandmother Dora Wells lived an early part of their married lives in this house and began to raise their family here. They later moved to Jacksonville. At the Jacksonville house some lady came visiting and left her hat on the front porch. Walter and Floyd, two of the Wells boys, nailed the hat to the floor and she found it difficult to pick up. Another indication that human nature does not change. The Wellses were some of the best when it came to practical jokes and the like. I am not sure if this old house is still standing. [Photo courtesy of Shawn Wells]
