Iceland, June 28, 1979: Whaling Station Hvalfjördur

Scanned slides from a trip to Iceland in June 1979.
On June 28 at 15.30 hrs a Whaling Vessel with three Fin Whales arrived at the Whaling Station of Hvalfjördur.
Just after 18.00 hrs the three animals had completely been slaughtered.
These slides are from the past, but unfortunately it still happens in the present!

Excellent photo document although it hurts the soul to see these animals mutilated and destroyed. Voted.

Interesting series. As these were shot in 1979, I hope Iceland is not whaling anymore. Hopefully, tourism has become a much more lucrative business for the country. Voted.
