To celebrate a long anniversary weekend, my wife Gerie and I took a day road trip down to
Apalachicola and stayed at the beautiful Coombs Bed and Breakfast. If you should ever be
on the Gulf Coast of Florida, I highly recommend you take the opportunity to stay at this
stunning Inn. We had the opportunity to participate in the celebration of its 100th Anniversary.
When it was built, the Apalachicola Herald deemed it the most “elegant of all the mansions
in the town.” It was, and is, all that and more. This is a sample of a wood carving on a
large hutch that decorates the main floor.
