Today was another humid sweltering day in the south, … temperature on my back deck was 98 degrees and per the Weather Channel, the heat index was again over 110 degrees. Nevertheless, it is almost the end of August and like it or not the work for getting firewood together for the coming summer is upon us now. Due to the hurricanes and tropical stores, I was able to pick and choose from several downed oaks and maple trees, and spent the day with the chain saw and the tractor hauling and stacking all this. I had to go slow, … for the heart condition doesn’t play games, … but I worked up a hard sweat anyway and all-in-all had a satisfying day.
