Tallahassee / Quincy, Florida

When John was a child, he loved to catch fireflies, (which most everyone knows are just baby faeries), and put them in an old Mason jar. This was the first time he had ever seen an adult one though, and he hoped he could slip the jar over her without damaging her little wings.
It’s Freaky Self Portrait Friday!
A real man has a sense of humor and imagination.

Personal note: Rumors of my death were premature. Due to a very painful back and shoulder injury and another possible heart attack, (I’m too damned stubborn to go to a doctor, … quacks one and all.), I’ve taken some time off from my PAD to rest and relax. Many thanks to all of you that dropped me private e-mails and expressed concern. It’s a true pain in the arse getting older, … but just wait, … you will too. Love and appreciation to all.

Great, now that I have actually scrolled down through the comments, I see that Bill has seen this picture already. I wondered what had him stirred up the other day. (giggle)

I LOVE this picture! John, welcome back! I had been worried and concerned about you. (warm smile) Now I just have to hope Bill didn't see this image cuz I have a feeling he would want Me to pose like THAT!

HEY! Welcome back from the dead! I had not heard that but I did ask around about you on dpreview forums. Glad are you feeling up to posting. Oh and it is just past peak mating season for fireflys here in the Smokies, but dang I didn't find any adult ones. Nice "catch".
