Tallahassee / Quincy, Florida

When I was a child, my Mom and Dad insisted that my brothers and sister and I learned how to be completely independent of others. One of my earliest memories as a child was standing on a stool at an old kerosene stove in Madrid Spain frying an egg in a huge cast iron skillet for my breakfast. I was maybe four years old at the time. Maybe. As a teenager I really didn’t understand why my friends were totally helpless in the kitchen for by that time I could prepare entire meals without even thinking about it. My Dad taught me “A real man knows how to cook and take care of himself” and I never thought another thing about it. BTW, great set up on this and love the commentary too.. I can just imagine your look at your peers.. sort of a what do you mean, you can't even make Mac n Cheese? (Tho, for me, I think it was making a spagetti dinner in 11th grade with/for a girlfriend who was trying to impress her boyfriend for Valentines)
