Surprising to most people, Carrie is posing in front of a simple black
background. The "window blinds" are nothing more than a piece of
cardboard with the pattern of the "blinds" cut into the cardboard
with a razor blade. The stencil is then placed in front of the strobe
and fired against the black background.
For those photographers looking for something different, or that just
can't afford to stock their studio with expensive props, ... cut out
stencil designs on cardboard placed in front of the strobe is the way
to go! The light from the strobe in this case is raw with no color gel.
