Next Friday I’ll be loading up one of the bikes and heading off to Panama City Florida for
the “Thunder Beach Bike Festival”. Every motorcycle event that I’ve attended in the past
I’ve always brought one of my full sized Single Lens Reflex cameras. Normally I’ll take one
or more zoom lenses, a camera bag, and even sometimes a tripod depending on what I intend
to photograph. All this equipment can become heavy and cumbersome as you can imagine!

I decided on this trip, I’d buy a compact, simple to use “point and shoot” camera and leave
all of my high quality and expensive equipment at home. This time I can slip the little camera
into a shirt pocket and have it ready in an instant if something interesting should pop up that
I just HAVE to have a photograph of. I did at least buy an 8.1 Mega Pixel camera with a 3X
optical zoom lens … but I must admit, it will be VERY strange in not having my full sized SLR along!

This is the new Fugifilm A850 “point and shoot” camera that I decided on. Not very expensive,
capable of taking fairly decent photos, and best of all, it will fit comfortably in a leather vest pocket!
