The lithophone (xylophone made of stone) is believed to be one of the earliest instruments of mankind. Many have been found all over Asia, most of them in Vietnam (such as the one in this picture).

Das hier gezeigte Lithophon aus Vietnam ist ein aktueller Nachbau der größeren Exemplare, es ist diatonisch gestimmt und besteht aus Sandsteinplatten mit eingefaßten Fossilien (Algen und Moose).
