22-JAN-2005 Finchley, London

22 January

C'mon, Get In There

Instead of having a traditional birthday party, Benny opted to take two friends -- Fred and Freddie (!) --
to Finchley for what was billed as 'Benny's Birthday Bowling Bonanza'. A good time was had by all,
even though the dream team of Ben, Fred and Freddie thoroughly trashed the two adults present.

I tilted the image a bit, both because I thought it looked a little better and because I
wanted to coax the ball into the 1-2 pocket.

An observation: those gutter guards they put up (for the kids, of course) are the greatest thing since
sliced bread. I may be from St. Louis, but that doesn't mean I can bowl worth a damn. Of course,
being assigned Lane 13 did not help matters any.

Being only 6, Benny has a bit of a hard time lifting the balls (even the 6 pounders) and his technique is a
little unusual, but he knows what it takes for a great looking follow-through. Click the photo to see a future Dick Weber.

I like the tilt and the color and love the "extra" photo!

I love the tilted composition, the colors, the reflectios on the bowling lane and those "Bowlasauruses" sure are fun. The bowling places I went to when I was in HS sure didn't look this nice!

Like Karen, I too remember watching Dick Weber on Saturday afternoons.
This is a great angle for this photo, the white pins and red bowling
ball add to the whole birthday bowling bonanza atmosphere. Happy Birthday Ben!
Wish I could send you a snowball :-)

Jim, glad you liked the snow shots. The doctor says pneumonia shouldn't last more than
a month or more, LOL.

OMG I had to laugh--Dick Weber! And to think I would spend Saturday afternoons watching Pro Bowling~! Thanks for the memories, Jim.

Happy birthday to Benny and glad the Freds had fun, too.

This really gives a feeling of motion. Those pins are going to explode any second.

Benny's birthday bowling bananza looks like a blast! This photo is great! Did you have to lay down on the floor to get this :) I also like the tilt...makes you feel the fun. Well done!
Susanne22-Jan-2005 23:38
I love both images. The tilt gives this a sense as if you turn your head, trying to convine the ball to roll toward the right in order to kick all of them down. Wonderful.

I like the tilt, makes it more dynamic. I've not been bowling for a couple of years, but when I last went I wiped the floor with everyone!! :-)
