First Test Shots Sony HVL-F60RM

A friend asked me to photograph her wedding and while I prefer to be an available light photographer, I realized that I might NEED a flash and I didn't want to mess with a much cheaper and unreliable Godox flash, I gulped at went for this Sony. I had no time to read the manual and literally took the flash to the venue at the same time of day the wedding will be held and immediately saw that a flash would be needed for just about every shot. The venue is an old house decorated in Victorian manner, with thick dark curtains over much of the windows. Thankfully the ceilings are low and white, good for bouncing the flash.!

When I turned on the flash the first thing I saw was that it was set for TTL exposure and that plus and minus exposure compensation were easily and quickly accessible. My first shots were very dark and I had to use a lot of plus compensation for my bounced flashes...and then I noticed I had set the flash exposures in the camera to minus two full stops! DUH! I quickly fixed that setting.
