_MG_7817 A Sad End

I gasped when I saw this and gave my "baby" a respectful funeral in the same pot. Update: I just had to go out on the deck and search some more and found a smaller baby. click on "next".

You have to release most of them and also raise flightless fruit flies to feed the remainders. When they get larger you're supposed to feed them pinhead crickets. Mine never reached a large enough stage in the container to feed them the crickets. The ones I released, however, remained on the same plants so I was able to give them flies that I had cultured. Left in a container in large numbers they eat each other.

I was quite saddened to see the poor fellow. I think I was getting emotionally involved with these strange creatures.
