1/40 sec with 420mm handheld

I was testing out the 1.4X Tamron converter (cheaper one) this morning in early morning light, so I had to use ISO 1600. The Tamron apparently doesn't have the electronics to transmit itself to the EXIF in the camera, so the focal length only shows at 300mm. Just goes to prove IS is very nice to have. (Through sliding door - any blurriness is due to constant squirrel movement!)

Peek a boo. I just love your white squirrels. Maybe if I ever get to N.C. to see my kids I will get to see one : )

IS is a great feature to have! I'm always amazed at how clear my handheld shots turn out especially sinse I can't hold the camera steady .I imagin it would really be hard with a long lens like yours without IS.
