Tom, C1 LE is short for Phase One's Capture One LE RAW Image converter. It is used to convert RAW images as you adjust white balance, exposures, etc. to "develop" them. You then bring them into your editing program to finish the job. C1 LE is a separate program.
Images taken at higher ISOs or underexposed images sometimes show dark lines that are called "banding". C1 LE has an option to suppress those lines.
Noise Ninja is a program that reduces the colored noise you see in images that are taken at high ISOs. It can be had as a plug-in (for Elements too) or a stand-alone program.
USM = unsharp masking. This is a more sophisticated method of sharpening than the "sharpening" choice offered in Elements.
Thank you!

I have a 20D and use Photoshop Elements.
What is C1LE banding suppresion?
What is Noise Ninja for noise suppression?
What is USM sharpening?
Have I fallen this far behind or is this Photoshop plug-in stuff?
Please illuminate my feeble mind.
By the way, the composition, lighting, and resolution is excellent.
Thank you,
Tom
