EXIF doesn't show flash fired!

There must be a communication point missing on the hot shoe connection of the Vivitar 283 flash, because the EXIF info indicates that the flash wasn't fired. It did fire!

The Vivitar 283 has only 1 contact at the hot shoe. The camera tells it when to fire, but there is no feedback to the camera. The Vivitar automatically shuts off when its sensor sees enough light. Peter
