Spent many hours today helping a friend set up her new laptop and was rewarded for my patience by spotting a silhouette of what looking like long insect legs on the brick surrounding my front door sidelight.

A closer look revealed these two praying mantises mating for a VERY long time, which allowed for lots of experimentation with my phone camera - with and without flash since it was getting dark outside the covered entryway.

Wound up remembinbg there were two 565 wat floods in the ceiling of that entryway and I was able to capture my very intriguing visitors.
