Three stalks of lemongrass, purchased from the refrigerator case at my Asian market were rooted in water at the end of April and planted in these pots in May.
They are very happy in this spot even though it gets less than 6 hours of sun.
A couple of days ago I cut off a couple of stalks, even though I hated to disturb the "babied" plant. Both bases and blades were cut into 2" pieces and placed in four cups of boiling water to simmer, covered, for 10 minutes. Very pleasant tea. I should have left out the teaspoon of sugar - it was way too sweet. Its native flavor is enough.
Looking forward to using it in stir fries, soups, and other tasty dishes.
In the winter these pots will hang out in the garage, to be protected from freezing.
