Recommended on the Asheville Plant People Facebook page was the incredible price of $9.50 per plant at Painters Greenhouse in Old Fort, North Carolina, near Black Mountain.

After I saw a disappointingly low number of sad looking plants for sale and made compromises on their condition because it took us an hour to get there I learned that a mistake had been made in the prices and people scooped up 200 of these bargains yesterday, and these were the leftovers.

I tried to pick plants that had healthy leaf growth. The plant with the long dead leaves came from a "work shed" which really wasn't for public display, but I was taken there by an employee who asked if I found what I was looking for. I wanted a pink or mauve flowered plant and saw this one.
