Was watching a YouTube video about how many megapixels you need to get good detail from a small file where the presenter concluded that unless the viewer was going to put his nose up to a large print, pictures would look fine from a normal viewing distance.
I don't upload large files to my online galleries and every now and then want to make a print from a very small file, let's say 800 pixels wide, for example.
I used to use AlienSkin Blowup to enlarge small files and it worked quite well, but today I downloaded a trial version of Gigapixel AI and was blown away by the vast improvement in clarity of its images as compared with those from Blowup.
I decided to buy the program, fearful that it wouldn't work on my 10 year old computer, but it does work, however, slowly.
I also found a 15% coupon online but in the ordering process saw no box in which to enter the coupon, so I've emailed them for a hoped-for refund.
The original photo was made by a 5 megapixel Canon A610. This is a screengrab from Photoshop CS6, which unfortunately is too ancient to be able to run the Gigapixel plug in, so I have to use it free-standing.
