P1140366DxO Volunteer Salvia

Concerned about what would happen to my unwatered salvia when we went away for a week, I cut it back severely and hoped for rain.

Upon return I learned that it had indeed rained enough to keep it going and also to germinate a lot of seed that had fallen from the original plants.

This was taken with my "ancient" GH2 for which I had to reset the clock because it hadn't been used in a very long time. Amazing how long camera batteries last.

(The cloth on the table was used yesterday to catch the splatters from my grilling of lamb chops on a butane burner under cover so my house won't smell like burnt lamb for a couple of days.)

A very inviting scene. Your deck overlooks a lovely wooded area against which the splash of red Salvia really stands out. V

A lovely deck, and cooking outdoors is the best way to deal with the smells !!
