Curry Plant

Bought this plant at an Indian market in Asheville when it was offered for sale. Since I had seen curry leaves in Indian recipes I thought it might be nice to have on hand.

...And then I smelled the leaves. I wasn't immediately attracted to their scent, but I love a good challenge.

Clearly this is a tropical plant that likes warmth and humidity and I was growing it on my deck in protected light, until the nights got cooler and a bit too breezy, which they're not supposed to like, and brought it in.

I know it would like more light which it will have when the leaves outside fall, but in the meantime I've taken some cuttings to start new plants. I have a feeling that it is overpotted in that great big pot and has been busy growing roots rather than leaves.

Not a plant for me, forget it, it smell too strong and the smell lingers forever.
