I do a lot of event photography and have used many cameras and lenses. In 90% OR MORE of the cases, my subjects are backlit, so the use of fill-in flash is a must. If I use a camera that doesn't have built-in flash I have to use an accessory flash that adds considerably to the weight of the camera, which after a while gets to be a burden since I'm often on my feet for several hours.
The internal flash of the RX10 iv synchronizes at way higher shutter speeds than that of other cameras and has the additional plus of silent operation. No shutter click!
In the case of this photo I was dealing with many skin tones, some of which came out so dark that I had to use dodging to lighten them so features could be discerned.
Expand flexible spot nabs focus very quickly and is much appreciated, too.
