Sprouted on October 19 after a few weeks of doing nothing visible. I understand ginger is treated with growth retardant, so that's probably why it took so long to sprout. Originally I had it under lights, but it got too tall. It was moved to this western location in which the sun was originally blocked by dense woods. It seems very happy, though leggy. I've been told it might defoliate and seem to die down, but will resurrect itself in the spring when it warms up and I'm able to put it outside. Time will tell. In the meantime, I think it's quite decorative.
