I knew it was going to be a good day when I saw the very bright light filtering through the drapes in our rental cottage window. (Irene, I was inspired by your moon shot!)
Actually, bright is good; sun can be a problem for photography. I think the most successful landscape shots here are taken with no sunshine. No strong shadows to deal with.
Later in the day we went to Hawes to attempt to visit the Wensleydale Cheese Factory, and as we leaving the car a gentleman came over to me and said, "You dropped something", as he knelt down to retrieve the cover to the battery and SD compartment of my camera. Needless to say, I thanked him abundantly. I haven't traveled much overseas, but I have never failed to experience extra kindness from English folk I've encountered.
