I took a picture of this couple at a party and captioned the file, "American Gothic". Tonight the gentleman asked me if I could put them into Grant Wood's iconic American Gothic.
After I selected their heads I found I would have to make them disproportionately large to cover the elongated heads of the original models, so I used the scale tool to stretch the heads to fit the bodies in proportion.
The hardest job was to integrate the clothing from the painting with the contemporary clothing. I also had to create some of the house structure.
It was an enjoyable and challenging job.
