The LX3 auto white balance is puzzling - I often get unwanted color casts when shooting in this room, which has gray tinted windows. Somehow my Olympus E-PL1 gets the color right, or pleasing to my eye with no unpleasant cast. I decided to try putting these "Whibal" cards in the image so I could click on one of the gray cards to adjust the color of a raw image in Adobe Camera Raw. A click on the lighter gray gave me a better result. I did have to do a lot of distortion correct of the image in ACR, as well.
