My mind is still foggy from the enormity of it all. We had over 20 inches of rain in two days, lost electricity, but very grateful for the Generac whole house generator that we had installed two years ago (which had not been used for over 10 minutes during that period). Also lost water for many days and was hauling water to fill toilet tanks until I realized I could put plastic kitchen bags in our toilets and spray liberally with strong disinfectant - TRIPLE BAGGING to protect the poor guys who collect our trash. We've been without internet since September 25 or 26 - today's October 17. Went MANY days without cell service, but when a weak erratic signal was restored I learned how to use a hot spot from my Pixel phone to my Ipad and we had data - grateful that we switched to T-Mobile with which we have unlimited data rather than the 2gb we had with Verizon! Oh, what a great big lesson this has been on the goodness of neighbors and the joys of sharing - also how very very spoiled we are with our addiction to social media and the comforts of life that we no longer take for granted.
