Didn't realize that I never posted images of this expensive event in a timely manner. Since it has been installed it has test run every week for about five minutes, and has only been needed for about five or 10 minutes. Conclusion: Install a generator and you will hardly need it.
As we say here, better be prepared for something that doesn't happen, than not being prepared for something that happens! I'm sure you have peace of mind, especially with our changing climate when anything can happen in the next minute! Last Winter, we were without electricity for almost 6 days during a Winter storm, and no, we don't have a generator, just a small one to keep the fridge and freezer going.
