I like the way the light is caught on the scooter. There is a bit of local news that gives this image a deeper meaning for me - within the last month a young man drown in the river. He was on a bike and not a scooter. But, still, this image reminds me of that event.
A sad image, a metaphor for that speaks to our lost childhoods. The river gives it up like an ancient artifact -- the glistening mud is an incongruous place to find a scooter. You remove most of the color by toning the image a blackish sepia, a perfect match for both the mud and the loss. One of my favorite Iris images, ever.
