Your long view is wonderful, and so is your underexposure here. The presence of the sun, trying to break through the clouds, is symbolic -- even the the sun seems intimidated by Death Valley. The contrast between the light colored hills and the darker mountains is superb. I chose a closer view of this scene (http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/75093381 ) comparing the gnarly trees and the ravens to the multi colored barren rocks behind them. Again, each of us tells a different story about the same place.
